“Whether it is a fan, chair, table, office building or train station, each design solution should provide a universal and approachable statement on beauty, purpose and function.”
Stephen’s Eliza Ceiling Fan for the Matthews Fan Company was inspired by the idea that a fan blade could be shaped to maximize air movement at the outer edge of the blade where it does the most work. The other goal was to make a clean and modern visual statement when the fan is not in use. The fan’s namesake is Stephen’s daughter Eliza Moore Katz.
